The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State

A distinguished professor, serves as the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State. Born on November 28, 1965, in Numan, she hails from Numan Local Government Area in Adamawa State and is happily married with children.

Her educational journey began at Numan II Primary School (1973-1979), followed by the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Yola (1979-1983). She obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE) from the Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola in 1987, a B.Sc. in Agricultural Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1989), an M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension from the same university (1995), and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Technology Education from the Federal University of Technology, now Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (2008).

Kaletapwa G. Farauta completed her one-year National Service at the College of Agriculture Akure, Ondo State (1990-1991) and commenced her teaching and research career at the Federal University of Technology Yola in October 1991. She also served as the Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) from July to October 2014.

From August 28, 2015, to July 17, 2017, she held the position of Honourable Commissioner at the Adamawa State Ministry of Higher Education. Her exemplary service led to her appointment as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, by His Excellency, the Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow (Sardauna Mubi) on July 17, 2017.

Under her leadership, the university witnessed significant improvements and a promising future. Kaletapwa G. Farauta is recognized for her commitment to adding value to humanity through hard work and sincerity, consistently making positive contributions in various capacities.

She has made substantial contributions to the global body of knowledge through numerous articles, papers presented at national and international seminars and conferences, as well as chapters in books. Kaletapwa actively participated in field studies, including leading a team for the assessment of climate change in Northern Nigeria and Adaptation Strategies for the African Technology Policies and Studies (ATPS) Network in 2010, among other notable engagements.
