Adamawa State Government Intensifies Hotel Security Measures Following Recent Tragedy

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta reaffirmed the Adamawa State Government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing hotel security protocols during a meeting held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. The gathering, convened to receive the report of a committee investigating a recent tragedy in a state capital hotel, underscored the government’s determination to ensure the safety of lives and properties across the state.

Professor Farauta commended the diligent efforts of the 7-man committee and stressed the government’s stance on enforcing stringent security measures, including proper documentation of customers and the installation of CCTV cameras in hotels. She emphasized that the government would not tolerate any compromises in security standards, particularly in the hospitality sector.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Honourable Aloysius Babadoke, highlighted the ministry’s role in constituting the investigative committee and noted significant compliance with directives regarding CCTV installations. He affirmed ongoing sensitization efforts to further enhance compliance with security protocols.

The committee’s recommendations, which include intensified monitoring of hotels by relevant authorities, were acknowledged and endorsed by the state government. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s proactive stance in addressing security challenges in the state was also commended.
